Send – QST- command to the unit from TAIP downloader or similar.

If the answer is RER99: Ask for help at support@digitalcomtech.com

If the third digit after RST response is not 0, Your unit has hardware problems with GPS Antenna, change it and repeat the test.

If the two first numbers after RST response from the unit are different than 00 your unit is in a place where it can not get GPS signal,change its position (or its antenna position) to another where it has direct line of sight to the sky and repeat the test:

• Place the unit with Syrus logo on top, in a point of the vehicle where it is not exposed to direct sunlight but it has a line of sight with the sky.
• There should not be any metal over the unit, blocking the GPS Antenna
• If the recommendations above can not be followed, the use of an external GPS antenna is advised.

LSyrus units counts with an “Anti-drift Algorithm”, which in order to avoid false positions due to drift, prevents the unit to refresh the coordinates until the following conditions have been reached:

• Fix
• Movement (Accelerometer signal F12)
• Speed faster than 2 Mph

When the above conditions have been reached the algorithm allows the coordinate update to the current position. When a Syrus is turned ON for the very first time or after a reset, the coordinates will be in zero until the filter has not beeen overcame.

If you are not interested in the use of this Anti-drift system send the command -SXAEC::gps 9 0- to the unit. If you want to activate it (default) send -SXAEC::gps 9 1-command.

You can lock the unit’s serial port using the command -SXALLLpppp- where you must change pppp for a 4-digit alphanumeric password that will prevent other programmers to modify via serial port, but will allow you to modify only via air or serially knowing the password. If you want to unlock the unit, you must use SXALLUppppwhere pppp is the alphanumeric password used in the lock. If you ignore the password there is no way to modify the script.

This occurs when the unit was previously configured to work with Visionaire with the standard configuration tool. Simply send the command -SXAKYU- to unbock and configure the unit again

• Make sure the battery cables are firmly welded.
• Charge the unit for several minutes.

If the problem persists contact: Support Team.

• Make sure the harness is firmly attached to the unit.
• If the problem persists try a new harness.

Despite Syrus is able to work without being connected to external power, The unit requires a certain voltage value (3.2VDC) in its internal battery to start, which ensures the right functioning of all applications. Thus in cases where the unit has been a long time with no external power, it is possible that the battery is drained below this voltage value, so it will take some time (between 2 to 10 minutes) before the unit turns on.

Yes. The output 1 can not changes states rapidly. The minimum time between transitions is 20 seconds. Please keep this in mind when changing the state of this output. RER16 is returned when trying to change the states before the minimum time has elapsed.

An iButton is basically a chip contained in a stainless steel casing of 16 mm in diameter. The casing is robust enough to resist harsh environmental conditions. Its condition of durability makes it ideal for applications where information needs to travel with a person or object. Although there are several types of iButton, only the type “Identification” is usable for Syrus applications

The communication protocol 1-Wire allows to rescue information contained in the iButton just by touching it. 1-Wire Communication protocol allows two communication speeds: 16kbps and 142kbps.

An iButton is ideal for any application where information needs to travel with a person or object. It is useful for tracking processes. Placed on a key chain, watch, or ring, an iButton can grant its owner access to a building, a PC, a piece of equipment or a vehicle.

i-Button holder. P/N: DS9093A+. It’s like a keychain the driver must carry and in which the i-button is introduced by pressure and there is constantly fitted.

The i-Button Reader to be purchased depends on the type of application required:

• P/N: DS9092L +. Should be preferred if the reader should be fixed on a surface inside the vehicle and the i-Button reader must seek such reader. It includes a green LED to give feedback to the user that the i-Button was read correctly. This LED should be controlled by an output of Syrus and based on the state of the signal F18.
• P/N: DS9092T #: Same as above but it advice you with a “Click” when iButton is positioned correctly on the reader. This notification system does not guarantee that the i-Button was read by Syrus.
• P/N: DS1402-RP3 +: Prefer this if the i-Button will be fixed in one place and is the reader who must find the i-Button. Comes with a bungee cord 0.9m, there is also cable of 2.4m.

To all readers of i-Button above, the connection with Syrus is made by joining the red / white cable of the harness with the center point of the reader. The other reader cable must be joined with one of the black wires of the harness.
